How do the US midterm elections affect the rest of the world? And what's at stake in a deeply divided America come November, when Democrats have the opportunity to limit the power of Trump and the Republicans.
In the lecture with Poul Erik Skam, the audience gets a vivid and insightful insight into the political machine room in the United States. With more than three decades of experience as a reporter and correspondent in Washington, among others, he explains what is at stake when Americans go to the polls in the middle of a presidential term.
With its background from some of the world's hot spots and coverage of American politics over the decades, Shame combines sharp analysis with personal experiences. He takes audiences behind the scenes, showing how midterm elections can alter the balance of power in Congress, affect the president's power to act and have consequences far beyond the borders of the United States.
The lecture is more than a policy review - it is a narrative about people, power and media. With presence, humor and powerful anecdotes from a long career in international journalism, Shame makes complex events understandable and relatable. Audiences go from there with both new knowledge, perspective and a rare insight into global news coverage and into the stories that rarely make it all the way to the screen.

Skodsborg – a healthy part of Denmark’s history
When you check in at Kurhotel Skodsborg, you are also checking into a piece of fantastic Danish history that is all about retreating for a while and re-energizing your body and mind.
In 1852, King Frederik 7 bought the country house Skodsborg with his wife, Countess Danner, and together they spent their long, relaxing summers here until his death in 1863. Villa Rex was built in 1857 so that the king could hold councils of state, meetings and banquets without leaving the scenic surroundings of Skodsborg. Villa Rex has been renovated with respect for history and is now used for parties and meetings.
