Skodsborg Talks - Hella Joof
Skodsborg Strandvej 139, 2942 Skodsborg
Look forward to an evening filled with laughter, recognition and life wisdom as Hella Joof invites us into her universe of love, chaos and clairvoyance.
Drawing on her beloved books, Hella tackles life's big and small questions:
What do you really do when the body is making knots and life is teasing?
When the grand-friend scores him the nice OG gets an apartment with a west facing balcony while you yourself sit in a club room with a cold radiator and a glass of skim milk? Hella talks about finding hope when darkness creeps in. About picking up the zest for life when the world feels a little too much. And of course — about the love that always finds its way, even when we least expect it. A lecture with Hella Joof is like a warm hug and a loving kick in the back at the same time — you go from there easier, wiser and with a smile stuck all the way down your stomach. **About Hella: ** Hella Joof is one of Denmark's most beloved voices — known for her wry humour, great warmth and ability to see life as it is: both beautiful, messy and utterly wonderful. She is an actress, director, writer and lecturer — and over the years has enriched Danes with both laughter and reflection in films, books and on stage. With bestsellers such as “The Papmaché Rule” and “The Joof Doctrine”, Hella has put life's absurdities to words and reminded us that happiness is often found in the imperfect. Whether she's standing in front of a camera or an audience, Hella Joof manages to create a space filled with presence, humor and humanity.

About Kurhotel Skodsborg
Skodsborg – a healthy part of Denmark’s history
When you check in at Kurhotel Skodsborg, you are also checking into a piece of fantastic Danish history that is all about retreating for a while and re-energizing your body and mind.
In 1852, King Frederik 7 bought the country house Skodsborg with his wife, Countess Danner, and together they spent their long, relaxing summers here until his death in 1863. Villa Rex was built in 1857 so that the king could hold councils of state, meetings and banquets without leaving the scenic surroundings of Skodsborg. Villa Rex has been renovated with respect for history and is now used for parties and meetings.
